Top 5 Android Games for September 2022 (so far)

School started, time is scarce. Searching for a good game to play can be a challenge. So I made a list of top 5 games for Android right now, to help you save time. A little bit of this, a little bit of that and you will be done in no-time. Here is my “Top 5 Android Games for September 2022 (so far)” list. Enjoy.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER: CotC

Not very typical for Square-Enix, Champions of the Continent is a Gacha oriented free to play RPG. Graphics are pixelated and cute, something the developers call “HD-2D: Evolved Pixel Art”. Regarding the story, its massive. As it should be since this is a singleplayer only game. There is a roster with 64 characters which mean creating a group leaves you with almost endless possibilities.

If you are familiar with the OCTOPATH TRAVELER series, you already know what to expect. It’s a great mobile experience as well and music stands as exceptionally good compared to other Android games.

Papers, Please

I don’t think there is a gamer on the planet that hasn’t heard the name of this indie gem in the past few years. Papers, Please got ported on Android and iOS. Actually not only ported, but optimized as well.

For those unfamiliar with this game, you work as an employee for the Ministry of Admission of Arstotzka. Your job is to catch smugglers, spies, terrorists and illegal immigrants trying to cross the border (among regular people). You do this by checking their documents, fingerprint etc. Couple of mistakes and you are out. The problem is the governing body of communist Arstotzka isn’t going to tolerate this kind of behavior.

The game is not free, but price was adjusted for mobile devices.

That’s a cow

This is an unusual, very casual but also addictive game. You control a cow. You use your cow’s udder like a jet engine with limited fuel. Collect coins, apples, avoid obstacles and you are golden.

Every couple of levels you get a shot at the claw machine that rewards you a different skin. The only in-app purchase is the one to remove (optional) ads and nothing more.

Stupidly fun game packed in about 70mb.

Chefy-chef

Back to the pixels, chefy-chef just had to be on this Top 5 Android list. It’s just good. Approaching the refrigerator, Chefy has teleported somewhere… strange. Doesn’t really matter where as long as he can find all the ingredients for his favorite dish.

Around 60 levels are available, the gameplay is solid and graphics are perfect for the game. The only criticism is about the controls and ad placements. Surely the developers will take care of that in future updates.

Tightrope Theatre

Tightrope Theatre is short and sweet puzzle platformer. Simple gameplay and pretty pixelated graphics. Our here this time is a daredevil on a tricycle. Questionable life choices lead him on a circus floor surrounded by deadly traps. He must survive.

Ramping difficulty that gradually increases over the 100 levels available promises entertainment for at least couple of days. Once you complete them all, there is a speed mode available.
