About this policy

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you read the website, leave a comment, contact us, view embedded videos or interact with advertising.

For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, please use the contact page and identify your message as a privacy request. You do not need to create an account to visit or comment. Public visitor registration is disabled.

Information collected when you visit

Delivering the website involves processing technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page and request time. Website servers and security services may record this information to deliver content, investigate errors, prevent abuse and maintain security. IP addresses and online identifiers can constitute personal data; we do not treat all technical or statistical information as anonymous.

We use Cloudflare for content delivery, caching and security. Requests may therefore pass through Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Learn more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

WordPress comments and messages

Comments use the standard WordPress form: Name, Email, Website and Comment. We process the submitted information, together with technical information such as IP address and browser user agent, to publish and moderate comments and detect abuse. Your comment, displayed name and any website link you provide may be public. Your email address is not published as part of the standard comment display. Avoid including sensitive information in a public comment.

Akismet, provided by Automattic, checks comments for spam. Information sent for this purpose may include the comment, submitted name, email and website, IP address, user agent and referring information. See Automattic’s Privacy Notice for Visitors. Disqus is no longer used for new comments.

If you choose the comment form’s option to save your details, WordPress may store them in your browser to make a later comment easier to submit. You can clear them through your browser settings. If a profile image is supplied through Gravatar, an email-derived hash and technical request information may be processed by that service; see the Automattic notice above.

When you contact us or submit material for consideration, we use the information you provide to assess the submission, respond and maintain relevant correspondence. Sending a message does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.

Google Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand readership, including pages viewed, referrals, device and browser information and interactions such as scrolling. We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and eligible advertising partners may process device information, online identifiers and advertising interactions for the purposes presented in the consent message.

For visitors to whom the European consent message applies, Google Privacy & messaging provides choices about data use. Google Consent Mode communicates those choices to Google tags. Rejecting analytics or advertising storage does not necessarily prevent every request to Google: the current setup can send limited, cookieless measurement signals while storage consent is denied. These signals are not the same as consented measurement using persistent analytics cookies.

Messages and available choices differ by region. Where Google confirms that its European consent flow does not apply, a separate analytics preferences dialog asks for your explicit Accept or Reject choice for Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Jetpack Stats. This dialog does not collect consent for personalised advertising. Before a choice or after rejection, analytics storage remains denied; Google tags may still send cookieless measurement signals. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites using its services. Advertising partners and their declared purposes are listed in the applicable Google consent message.

Embedded YouTube videos

Article pages may contain YouTube players that load when the page is opened, independently of the advertising and analytics choices made in the Google consent message. The website uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain for supported article embeds. According to Google, this mode limits use of video views for personalisation and serves non-personalised ads where ads are shown.

Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no personal information is processed. Loading a player connects your browser to YouTube, which may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Interacting with the player may involve additional processing, cookies or device storage. The Google advertising consent choices on this website do not block these embedded players. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Optional website analytics

We offer optional analytics through Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Jetpack Stats to understand readership and improve AndroGaming. Our European consent message groups these services under the site’s analytics purposes: device storage, content measurement and audience statistics (purposes 1, 8 and 9). Where the European flow does not apply, the analytics preferences dialog offers a shared Accept or Reject choice for these three services. Closing or ignoring the dialog does not grant consent. You can change your selection through “Privacy and cookie settings” in the website footer. Accepting analytics does not subscribe you to push notifications.

Clarity provides behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session recordings, including page visits, clicks, scrolling, browser and device characteristics and identifiers. It loads only after the consent system confirms permission for all three European analytics purposes following the updated disclosure, or after you explicitly accept the separate analytics preferences dialog where the European flow does not apply. Our Clarity integration grants analytics storage and keeps advertising storage denied. Read Microsoft’s Privacy Statement for Microsoft’s processing. Microsoft states that ordinary session recordings are retained for 30 days; heatmaps, aggregate data and labelled or favourited recordings may be retained for up to 9 months.

Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, records page views and interactions. Data may include IP address, browser information, visited and referring URLs, event time and, where applicable, information about logged-in WordPress.com users. Its visitor tracking runtime is loaded through the same analytics consent gate. Read Automattic’s Privacy Notice for Visitors. Other Jetpack features, such as related posts, are separate from Stats and may process technical information to provide their functions.

Clarity and Jetpack Stats remain blocked when the relevant permission cannot be confirmed, including while regional applicability is unknown and before acceptance of the analytics preferences dialog outside the European flow. Outside that flow, the website stores your analytics choice, disclosure version and expiry in browser local storage for 180 days, then asks again. These preferences are stored to remember and respect your decision. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page. European preferences use Google’s consent storage, together with a local disclosure-version marker. Withdrawing analytics consent stops further optional collection through this integration and reloads the page where needed. It does not automatically erase information already collected; contact us with a privacy request.

Push notifications

OneSignal provides optional browser push notifications about new content. Its original WordPress integration loads the OneSignal SDK and may automatically display a subscription invitation according to our OneSignal settings. Your browser requires notification permission before a new push subscription can receive notifications. Accepting or rejecting website analytics does not subscribe you to, or unsubscribe you from, push notifications.

Loading the SDK connects your browser to OneSignal before you decide whether to subscribe. OneSignal may process technical information such as IP address and browser and device information; subscriptions involve identifiers and push tokens, and notification interactions may also be processed. See OneSignal’s Privacy Policy. You can revoke notification permission in your browser’s site settings or use OneSignal’s subscription controls where available. Revoking permission does not automatically delete previously collected information.

Your privacy choices

Use “Privacy and cookie settings” in the website footer to review or change your analytics decision. This opens the Google message where its European flow applies, or the analytics preferences dialog outside that flow. If regional applicability cannot be determined, optional analytics remains blocked. You can refuse optional purposes and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

Essential processing needed to deliver the website, protect it and remember your choices is separate from optional analytics and personalised advertising. Browser settings can also limit or remove cookies and site storage. Removing consent storage may cause a message to appear again.

Purposes, sharing and retention

We process comments, correspondence and security information for the legitimate interests of operating the website, responding to requests, moderating discussions and preventing abuse, subject to applicable law. Where consent is required for optional cookies or processing, we rely on the relevant consent. Information may also be processed to meet legal obligations.

Information is shared with the services described above when their features are used, and may be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address fraud or security incidents. Providers can process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy notices describe their processing and applicable international transfer arrangements.

Published comments and associated moderation records may be retained while the discussion remains available, unless removed. Correspondence is retained for handling the request and relevant follow-up. Technical records and provider-held data have retention periods that depend on their purpose and the applicable service settings. We do not promise a single deletion period for all services. Contact us for information about a particular record or to request deletion; legal or security requirements may affect whether it can be removed.

Your rights and policy changes

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy and withdraw consent. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority. Please contact us through the contact page to exercise these rights. We may request proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data.

This policy applies to AndroGaming.com. External links lead to services with their own privacy practices. We will update this page when the website’s processing changes; the date above identifies the latest revision.
