5 Best Android Games for August 2022
If you would….
It has been a long hot summer and with all the crazy things happening around us, we all need some distractions. And what better way than something in your pocket, say on your Android device that you lug around anyway? Here are our Top 5 Android games for August 2022 that we think you should try.
Descenders
The downhill mount-biking game that was originally released back in 2018, finally arrives on Android too. As the name suggests, you are racing downhill doing tricks and eliminating objectives. Fun, except the Android port requires a little more love. In the current state it requires a beefy device with SD8xx in order to play smoothly. It looks great tho.
Diablo Immortal
Yes yes yes, the infamous out of the season April’s fools joke. We get it, it’s a money grab spin-off title because Blizzard wanted a piece of the cake. However, Diablo Immortal is still a decent ARPG game. Yes, you do need to spend a lot of money to top the ladder, but do you really have to? If you are fine just playing the game for what it is and your primary goal is to waste some quality time, give it a go. It’s free anyway.
Dicey Dungeons
Another nice surprise this time from Terry Cavanagh, comes in a form of roguelike deck-builder that enjoys 9.7/10 reviews on Steam (at the moment). The game is finally available on Android and comes with a reduced price tag too. If you like solving puzzles and own something that gives great replay value, I suggest you get Dicey Dungeons.
Noah’s Heart
Since almost everything I listed here is a paid game, here is something “free” that you can try right away. Technically a sequel to their previous game Dragon Raja, Noah’s Heart took the scene by surprise. It’s a MMORPG game running on Unreal Engine 4 and looks truly stunning. Monetization is a deal-breaker only if you want to be in the top 10%, otherwise it’s bearable. Although available on PC too, Noah’s Heart is a mobile game through and through. Starting with the controls, across the menus and navigation it really feels like it belongs on a touch screen. If you want a more detailed review of the game, check it out on MMORPG.com where they go in-depth explaining the core mechanics.
Jade Order
For the last entry in this list, I was going to suggest Hello Neighbor: Diaries, but weirdly all my devices were incompatible (maybe something to do with the pre-alpha state of the game). So the spot opened up for Jade Order. A pixelated puzzle game with “engaging” gameplay that offers quite a lot. More than 50 puzzles stand in your way to help the Jade Goddess and cleanse the land the cursed flames of the plague.
Keep in mind that this is a trial version of the game. To unlock the full version you will have to spend around 3.50$ (three fiddy), available as an in-app purchase. So the game is not free as the link bellow suggests.
Final word
Those are my top 5 picks of Android games for August 2022. If you think I missed an essential (new) game, please let me know in the comments. All 5 of these games offer real actual content that will keep you occupied for a while and are well worth the price tag. Unless you don’t like spending money upfront. In that case give Diablo Immortal and Noah’s Heart a try, both of them are decent game and you don’t really have to spend anything if you don’t want to.
