About Us

AndroGaming started in 2011 when we got old(er), got married, had kids and found less and less time to sit in front of a gaming PC. Portable gaming made it easier for us to relax. Sometimes, that still means hiding somewhere quiet for twenty minutes.

The site began with Android games. These days, it covers game ports, emulation, indie games and gaming handhelds, including Android devices and the PS Vita (and possibly more devices in the future). There are also installation guides, troubleshooting articles and resources for getting older games running on different hardware.

We try to stay up to date and provide the most recent news we find on the internet. If we miss something, by all means tip us.

Who’s behind it?

I’m Dejan Balalovski, the owner and editor of AndroGaming.com. My background is in IT, networking and audio production, and I’ve been running this site alongside my friends Martin and Ivica since the beginning.

I enjoy the tinkering as much as the gaming, setting up emulators, testing community ports and figuring out why things go wrong.

Reviewing something is not as simple as it sounds. There are a number of factors to take into account when forming the final score. These include visual appearance, sound effects, gameplay, replay value, bugs, ease of use and overall value. We try to approach every game we review as objectively as humanly possible. However, each author is entitled to his or her own opinion, which may or may not differ from your own, so keep that in mind.

The final score (or, more recently, the conclusion) reflects all the positive and negative impressions the author formed during the review. Reading all the pros and cons will give you a pretty clear idea of what to expect.

What you’ll find here

Some articles are short news posts about a release or update. Others come from installing, playing and troubleshooting something ourselves. When reporting a developer’s claims, we identify them as such. When we’ve tested something, we explain what we used and how it went, including the problems.

Community projects can change quickly, and sometimes yesterday’s instructions are already outdated. Guides include versions and device details where relevant and possible.

Credits and corrections

The developers, port authors and homebrew communities do the work that makes much of this coverage possible. Articles link to the original projects and credit the people behind them. Unofficial ports are identified as unofficial.
