Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers
Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers was released two years ago on the iOS platform (and later Steam). By popular request, the developers from Nerf Game decided to bring it over on Android as well. As crazy as it sounds, the game really is about two sock brothers. One of them has been taken hostage by “nibbles” and imprisoned in a parallel dimension. The other brother is you and your name is – get this – Sock! Armed to the teeth you embark on an epic quest of justice.
Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers Gameplay
While it does look a lot like a standard platformer, this game in fact is a runner with (heavy) platforming elements. Your character will keep running on its own, but that doesn’t mean the gameplay lacks users interaction. You will have to jump, fire, float and avoid hazards while calculating your moves 3 steps ahead. There are bonuses in form of imprisoned socks that you can collect and tons of coins on every single level. Luckily, the controls are quite simple. You have a jump/float button on your left, dash and two fire buttons on the right part of your screen. They are pretty easy to memorize and the tutorial does a great job explaining the essentials.
Being a bit on the hard side (not cup-head hard, but still hard), you will often end up in things that should generally be avoided. Like spikes and holes. Fortunately, there are two check-points on each level from which you can respawn. The game has over 30 levels and a big mean boss at the end. Gearing up shouldn’t be a problem. There are plenty of weapons to chose from, including types that go boom or stink up your enemies and dissolve them in acid.
Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers looks exceptionally good. The cartoon styled graphics are pleasant to look at, especially if you decide to finish the game. The game can be downloaded from the link below and is also available on Steam. While the Android version is free (ads and in-app purchases supported), the steam version isn’t.
