ARMSX3 1.6.2 adds music, movies and PS3 visualizers
ARMSX3 1.6.2 is out for Android, expanding its XMB Mode with a full music player, video playback and the PS3’s familiar music visualizers. The update also includes an ARM optimization and a save fix for God of War III and Cars Race-O-Rama.
The PS3 emulator uses code from RPCS3. Its XMB Mode is a separately built interface that reads icons, fonts and other resources from your installed PS3 firmware. It is distinct from booting the console’s system software, and firmware is not included.
Party like it’s 2007
The biggest changes in the 1.6.2 release are on the media side. Music now supports album browsing, continuous playback, shuffle, repeat and custom covers. You can play songs directly from folders or import an album from a ZIP archive. ALAC, AIFF and WMA join the existing supported formats.

Waves, Valley, Gaia and Lines visualizers use resources from your own firmware installation. Controller buttons and touch gestures let you switch views, change presets and go fullscreen.
The new Video column supports local folders and removable storage, with thumbnails, video duration and playback resume. Hardware decoding handles supported formats, including 4K where the device allows it. A fallback decoder covers additional formats such as DivX, Xvid and MPEG video, plus AC3, DTS and MP2 audio.
You can also apply RetroArch shader presets from your shader packs to videos. Yes, your films can have CRT masks too.

A couple of fixes
Beyond media playback, the release credits Whatcookie with faster SPU code verification on ARM. There are no measured game performance gains in the notes, but anything is possible.
The APKs were also replaced shortly after release to include an upstream fix by digant73. It corrects save-list handling in God of War III and Cars Race-O-Rama when the list is full and the game hides the New Save option. If you grabbed 1.6.2 immediately, download the refreshed APK.
Other changes include an XMB startup crash fix, clipboard support and a built-in file browser for imports in the GitHub build.
The release offers Android 11, 13 and 15 APK variants for ARMv8.2, plus a legacy ARMv8.1 build. You still need PS3 firmware and your own games.
