Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is a gacha game, faithfully following the original IP, including the spin-off manga Oriko Magica. It was released on March 27, 2025 on Android, iOS and Steam and just recently surpassed one million downloads (across all platforms). Those are “rookie” numbers of course, so the team behind the game is pushing new updates. However, there is a problem. It turns out that the IP itself (as in intellectual property) is region-blocked in many countries, which is unusual since it’s typically the games that are region-locked. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is introducing new content starting Friday, May 2, 2025, with the release of the ★5 Kioku [Nothing to Despair, Ever] featuring Ultimate Madoka. Running since April 25, this event follows Homura on her return to school. Players can collect items like Magica Stones and Orbs through the event exchange.

The game looks absolutely gorgeous, and it’s clear the studio didn’t consider cutting costs when it comes to the art style. Otherwise, it’s a classic auto-battler/RPG, where team building is one of the most important aspects of gameplay.
