Skyrim Android port project shows an early rendering demo
Skyrim is looking for another device to live on. So far, it has brought the furniture.
Developer u/AstroPC has shared an early demo of a project aiming to bring Skyrim natively to Android with Vulkan rendering. According to the developer, it starts with the Switch version’s existing ARM64 code, decompiling and gradually adapting its subsystems for Android.
The footage shows Fruki’s House with textured walls, furniture and an inspection camera, plus a switch between textured and wireframe views. It is a scene rendering demonstration, with lighting, effects, characters and gameplay explicitly marked as unfinished. The table has arrived. The Dragonborn is still running late.
AstroPC plans to add physics and first person controls, with mod support and ARM64 VR ambitions further down the road. The developer also mentions heavy Codex use in the comments, making AI assistance part of the development process.
There is no public APK yet, confirmed hardware requirement or release date in the announcement, so be patient. Source code is promised on GitHub once the project is further along.
Interesting enough to keep watching. Too early to clear space on your device, but just in time for you to drop a bookmark on the link below.
