Plague Inc. won a prestige award – The Queen’s Enterprise Award for Innovation, which makes Ndemic Creations very proud. To celebrate this event, they released “The Royal Update”, which is currently only live on iOS, but PC and Android versions are coming soon. This is probably the biggest update yet this game has received.
Plague Inc. The Royal Update
First of all, this isn’t just another update adding new features and events. The Royal Update brings complete graphical overhaul and two very distinct official scenarios to play through. The in-game interface has been redesigned and modernized, so much that you will want to lick your phone screen (according to the developers), but please don’t.
The two new scenarios are also interesting, although the first in the list has nothing to do with diseases and bacteria’s. Why? No one knows, but seems pretty interesting.
New Ultimate Board Games scenario
Make a best-selling board game in this radically different scenario that has nothing to do with disease! Investors have given you two years to design, produce and distribute your very own game. Can your cat-themed Scrabble/Risk hybrid outsell Monopoly?
New Science Denial scenario
People around the world have stopped believing in science, medicine and even diseases. One country decides to offer scientists sanctuary and from here they hope to save humanity from itself! Can you wipe them out in time?
“It’s wonderful to see Ndemic Creations be recognised by Her Majesty the Queen for our work on Plague Inc.” says founder James Vaughan “I originally made the game as a hobby back in 2011 and continue to be overwhelmed by all the love and support it gets from over 100 million players worldwide”
On the update’s new content Vaughan added, “For the first time, we’ve made a scenario that has nothing to do with disease! It’s brilliant to see players developing all sorts of weird and wonderful products in the Ultimate Board Games scenario – some of the combinations that end up selling well for them are unbelievable!”
Unfortunately the ETA on Android’s update was not mentioned in the press-release. If you own the game, you can re-download it and dust-off your skills, everyone else check it out.
