Final Outpost: Definitive Edition sets May 22 for Release

Exabyte Games has confirmed that Final Outpost: Definitive Edition will be released on May 22, 2025 on PC, Android and iOS. The announcement was made alongside a new trailer, which can be viewed on the studio’s official YouTube page, GameTrailers, and IGN.

The Definitive Edition introduces a number of updates to the base-building colony sim set during a zombie apocalypse. These include a replayable progression system, a trading mechanic, a new soundtrack, and several gameplay options. Players will be able to establish new outposts, select different difficulty modes, and try out modifiers that change how the game plays. One new building type is also part of the update.

The original Final Outpost, released in 2020, was downloaded more than a million times. The updated version has generated interest on Steam as well, with over 25,000 users adding it to their wishlists since its store page went live in August 2024.

The game has previously been featured by several YouTubers Splattercat, Orbital Potato, Wanderbots, Nookrium, Angory Tom and press outlets such as Gamespark, Gaming on Linux and PocketGamer have previously covered the game.
