Snowbreak: Containment Zone Adds New Characters and Features in “Abyssal Dawn” Update

Seasun Games Pte. Ltd. has rolled out a new update for Snowbreak: Containment Zone called “Abyssal Dawn.” The update includes fresh characters, gameplay modes, and several in-game features aimed at expanding the experience for current and returning players.

The game, which mixes sci-fi elements with third-person shooting and RPG systems, remains free to download on iOS, Android, Windows, and the Epic Games Store.

“We continue to improve Snowbreak with content that matters to our players,” said Chongchong, producer of the game. Mumu, head of publishing in China, added that the update supports their earlier commitments around fair monetization and ongoing content support.

New Characters

• Nerida – Styx Envoy (Available April 17): A chaos-type damage dealer using an assault rifle. She is built for both single-target and area-based combat. Her Ultimate Skill remains active even when she exits the field.
• Nita – Pulse (Available April 17): A thermal-type character using a shotgun. She relies heavily on skill use and features a new quick-time event (QTE) mechanic.

New Outfits and Visuals

The update introduces several new outfits and a special scene:

• Nerida’s “Dawn’s Command”
• Nita’s “Sylvan Spirit”
• Katya’s “Classy Elegance”
• Bubu’s “Vitality Checkup”
• Fenny’s “Nitro Nova”
• Yao’s “Tidy Marksmaid” (replaces a previously removed outfit)
• “Grove of Secrets” bundle for Nita, which includes a new scene and weapon skin

In-Game Events

• Pulse Puzzle (Starting April 17): A permanent event where players can unlock Nita early by solving in-game puzzles tied to her story.
• Emotional Purge (April 28 – May 29, 2025): A limited-time event introducing a 3D cover shooter mode with movement, vaulting, and more detailed physics.
• Nita’s Invitation (Starting May 1): A chance to fully unlock Nita’s key abilities, weapon, and supporting squad for free.

Gameplay Updates

Several new gameplay features are included:

• Snapshot Booth: Players can take character photos with pose and expression settings, then save them locally.
• Story Replay Mode: Lets players replay previously completed main story chapters.
• Dynamic Outfit Illustrations: Updated visuals for player profiles.
• Hide and Seek Mode: A new casual gameplay activity.
