Genshin Impact 5.7 Adds Skirk and New Archon Quest

Genshin Impact’s Version 5.7, called “A Space and Time for You” lands on June 18 and brings some major updates, including the long anticipated arrival of Skirk. This mysterious fighter is finally stepping out of the shadows and into your team lineup. Known as Childe’s mentor, Skirk comes packed with Abyssal power disguised as Cryo and can switch between two unique combat styles. One focuses on steady Normal Attacks, while the other delivers heavy AoE Cryo damage with her Burst. She uses a special resource called Serpent’s Subtlety and if you run a Hydro and Cryo team, she gets even stronger.

Joining her is Dahlia, a new 4-star Hydro support who serves as the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. He brings a renewable shield with his Burst and can boost attack speed or toss allies into the air with his Skill. The update’s Event Wishes will kick off with Skirk, Dahlia, and Shenhe, followed by reruns of Mavuika and Emilie later on.

The Traveler Twins’ Paths Cross Again

The Archon Quest picks up after the “Bedtime Story” chapter, diving deeper into the drama between the Traveler and their sibling. With the Abyss Order stirring up trouble in Natlan, Mavuika and the region’s defenders stand ready. Dainsleif joins the Traveler in a new form and together they’ll push into the heart of the Abyss’s plans. This chapter promises some answers fans have been waiting for.

You’ll also get to try out a new Sumeru Akademiya event that mixes tactical team-building and luck. Choose your path, rainforest or desert and pick Companion Pieces to power up and face various challenges. You can even collect fruit with Paimon to earn buffs and if you complete it all, you can recruit Sethos to your team.

Version 5.7 also brings the new permanent mode Stygian Onslaught. You’ll face rotating bosses and rising difficulties, with rewards like Artifacts and a new item, Dust of Enlightenment, which lets you re-roll minor Artifact stats.

What Else?

For a bit of downtime between battles, Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter offers fun side stories across Teyvat. You’ll see familiar faces like Thoma, Neuvillette and Dori in smaller, more personal moments.

Quality of life updates are coming too. Mobile players will see new game resource options based on their progress. Plus, you can now use Fragile Resin for triple rewards in Domains and Ley Line Blossoms. New Envisaged Echoes challenges featuring Raiden Shogun and Shenhe are also on the way.
