Celeste Classic gets an Android port
Celeste Classic is now on Android, with touchscreen controls and physical gamepad support. Just to be clear, this is the original little Celeste, not the full commercial game.
According to the developer, the port is based on the open source GBA version. It keeps the C game logic largely unchanged, using a JNI bridge to connect it to Android. Rendering stays at the original 128×128 resolution, with a software PPU recreating the GBA rendering pipeline.
Touch controls include an eight direction virtual joystick and buttons styled to match the pixel graphics. Prefer a controller? The developer lists Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, 8BitDo and generic HID controllers over USB or Bluetooth, along with MFi support (for Apple).

The touch controls automatically disappear when a controller connects and return when it disconnects. Simple as that.
The download linked by the developer is available through Pixeldrain. The announcement does not specify a minimum Android version or tested handheld models, so compatibility with devices such as the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 or AYN Thor still needs checking.
The original Celeste was a small PICO-8 platformer made by Maddy Thorson and Noel Berry in four days. Climb, jump and dash through compact rooms full of spikes, with strawberries to collect along the way. Small game, plenty of retries (a predecessor of souls-like if you will).
