Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter – AI, Cards, and a Whole Lot of Chaos

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, that we previously announced, is now live on live on Android, iOS and Steam. This is a roguelike card game that’s doing something unorthodox: it’s got AI making new cards for you as you play. The game comes from Kazuma Kaneko—the guy known for some seriously stylish worlds—and this time, he’s teamed up with cutting-edge tech to create something new.

So, What’s the Deal?

At the heart of it all is “AI Kaneko,” a custom-built AI trained by Kaneko himself. This thing doesn’t just hand you random cards—it watches how you play and then makes original cards just for you. Every run becomes your own little remix of chaos.

You’ll see that right away in the teaser. There’s this high-rise dungeon (yep, a creepy apartment skyscraper full of monsters), epic regular and boss battles, and that AI card system doing its thing. It’s flashy, mysterious, and honestly just really cool.

The Story (AKA: Welcome to Tower Hell)

The whole game takes place in Tokyo’s bayside area, where a giant ultra-modern tower called THE HASHIRA has been locked down and filled with monsters. Not ideal.

Enter Tsukuyomi, a secret organization that’s trying to clean up the mess and take out the big bad: Noriko Tomi, the CEO who helped build the tower and apparently set a bunch of Jujutsu traps inside for fun. She’s now gunning to take down the whole country. Casual.

Who Can You Play As?

Right now, you can dive into two playable chapters: Izayoi and Shingetsu. More characters (Mangetsu and Hangetsu) are dropping in future updates.

  • Izayoi Tsukuyomi – Classic style, boosts attack and defense with strong cards.
    • Jinma cards: Seiryu, Finn MacCool, Mormo, Watanabe Tsuna
  • Shingetsu Tsukuyomi – More fast-paced, combo-heavy battles.
    • Jinma cards: Mach, Kirin, Kato Danzou, Suzuka Gozen

Let’s Talk Battles

The fights use a turn-based card system. Cards get dealt from your deck each turn, and you pick what to play based on whether you’re going in for a hit or trying not to die. The pace is quick, but there’s a lot of depth if you’re the kind who likes to plan two steps ahead.

Exploration is a big part of this too. You start at the bottom of THE HASHIRA and fight your way up. Along the way, you’ll run into survivors, monsters, and tough decisions. And yeah—what you choose affects which original cards you’ll get later. It’s all connected.

The Okami System – AKA the AI That Reads You

The Okami System. It’s powered by AI Kaneko, and it watches the choices you make during your climb. At key moments, this False God called Okami pops up and creates a brand-new card just for you, based on how you’ve been playing.

But heads up—if you lose a battle, you lose the card. It’ll go into your archive though, so you might get it back in another run.
