Afterglow Mobile MMORPG Begins Closed Alpha Testing

Shadow Council PTY has officially launched the closed alpha for Afterglow, a post-apocalyptic sandbox MMORPG for mobile. Set in a world shaped by a nuclear war that happened 77 years ago, the game invites players to explore a mysterious wasteland inspired by 1980s America.

Players step into the shoes of a refugee arriving in the American Southwest. As they fight to survive, they’ll uncover strange artifacts and phenomena that have drastically transformed the world.

The developers are encouraging early players to share anonymous feedback during the alpha phase. Access to the test, as well as the feedback form, terms, and guide, is available through the official playtesting request form.

A Mobile MMORPG for Busy Players

Afterglow focuses on semi-idle gameplay, giving players a way to progress even with limited time. It mixes strategic turn-based combat with a player-driven economy and story-rich progression. PvP features with territory control are planned for a future update. The game promises a no pay-to-win approach, staying true to the studio’s philosophy.

Key Features:

  • Semi-idle gameplay designed for busy people
  • Strategic turn-based combat
  • Player-driven economy
  • Meaningful and story-rich gameplay
  • PvP mechanics with territory control (coming soon!)
  • No pay-to-win mechanics
