Smash Hit – your personal stress relief tool

The developers at “Mediocre”, responsible for Granny Smith and Sprinkle, released yet another addictive game with a strong message to deliver. Smashing glass objects will instantly make you feel better and can be quite relaxing after a stressful day at the office.

smash-hit-1

The gameplay is really simple. You start moving forward. Where are you heading? It doesn’t matter, that’s not the point. The point is that in this otherworldly dimension, every object standing in your way is made of glass. Plot-twist: you have balls of steel resting in your pockets!

Newton’s first law of motion dictates that object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. You are that object, glass obstacles are the unbalanced force, throw the balls of steel to shatter the glass and stay in motion. The amount of balls you posses is limited, hitting an obstacle will make you lose some of them and if you run out of balls at any time, that’s it, game over. Luckily, they can easily be replenished by breaking the cone-like glass structures positioned on both sides of the level.

The gameplay only gets better when you realize that music and sound effects are synced to the gameplay. Music changes as you enter each new zone and obstacles change their motion to match the tune. Speaking of zones, there are 11 distinctive graphic styles spread across 50 different zones where you can earn your achievements and top the leaderboards. Smash Hit is free to download and play, there are no ads and the only in-app purchase is the premium upgrade (about $2.0) that allows you to continue playing from the last checkpoint (instead of starting over) and provides the cloud save option that can be extremely useful if you intend to play the game on multiple Android devices.
